Stainless vs Non stick cookware- Chefs advice

My fiancee bought us a beautiful glass top stove. Now it’s time for a new cookware set. I had a Princess house party yesterday and saw their stainless steel set which is absolutely gorgeous. But since I’ve always used the old style stainless (copper bottomed) and more recently non stick I can’t decide which will be better in the long run. Does really good quality stainless hold it’s luster? Is it non stick? Will it clean easily? How do I clean it? Will I end up ruining it by lack of knowledge?

What is the Best Cookware?

I recently bought a 5 piece set of cookware, all coated and the label says carbon steel. I did not worry about it too much until I got home and a friend advised that it could react with food (which is bad for health) and rust easily. Please is this true? If it is, what is the best cookware to use?

Is Salad Master cookware the only one of its kind?

donna s. asked:

I’m considering to buy a whole set of Salad Master cookware, which, as most of you probably know, is extremely expensive. I’m just wondering if there really isn’t any other cookware brand out there that has exactly the same materials used in making it (the 7-layer steel thing is what they’re so proud of)and offers the same quality as Salad Master?

And here’s one other thing that’s holding me back from buying it right away…Isn’t it strange that you can only buy it from a dealer and not from department stores? I found out that the authorized dealers make a lot of money in a sale of just one set and it kinda makes me think that i’ll be paying more to the seller than for what it’s worth!

Can anyone tell me if it’s worth buying it or will i be ripped off if i do?

I am getting ready to purchase a new set of cookware. I think I want stainless steel but I’m afraid it will stain really bad. Of course it is pretty when it is new. I’m looking for some feedback from anyone who has had good experience or bad experiences with stainless. Also, any recommendations on what kind you think is best.

Which is a better buy: Wolfgang Puck or Emeril Cookware sets?

cansoulrebel asked:

I am looking into purchasing a professional-grade yet affordable cookware set. I have seen both of these as highly recommended, however the emeril is slightly more expensive. Can anyone recommend which is a better purchase? I need stainless steel, over safe, and am an avid amateur chef so quality and performance is very important. (I am also open to other suggestions if you have). Thank You!

Which is better? Stainless steel or Calphalon 1 anodized aluminum?

Mishy asked:

My husband and I are avid cooks, mostly doing North Indian cuisine. I also like to experiment with other recipes. We got married in July 2004 and registered for the Calphalon One infused anodized cookware, which my dad later got us for Christmas (approx. $600-700). Well, nobody bought me the Kitchen Aid copper colored mixer that I’d registered for, and, long story short — because of a big promotion/sale going on at Marshall Fields, my husband and I decided to return the Calphalon cookware for cash and purchase the stainless steel Jamie Oliver set AND the copper colored Kitchen Aid mixer.

We watch Food Network all the time (and they were advertising the Calphalon One set really heavily) and I wondered if I did the right thing. I love the Kitchen Aid mixer and my pots work well enough… I’ve also seen very mixed reviews online for the Calphalon cookware… Today I considered just buying one small Calphalon One piece just to see what the hype is all about. What do you think?
Did we make a mistake?

Choosing new cookware?

Jaiden Eats At Mommy’s asked:

I’m so confused about buying new cookware.

There are several options and I’m wondering what your opinion is on which cooks best and is easily cleanable:
Aluminum
Hard-Anodized
Hard-Base
Nonstick
Stainless Steel

I prefer to stay away from “Teflon” like material or dark cookware and stick with the aluminum or steel look since it will match the theme in my new kitchen. I’m looking at Target.com right now. Any brands you like? I’m not spending over $150 for a set.
