I’m thinking about buying a cookware set of stainless steel pots and pans and I’ve narrowed down to two brands.
The first one is Hoffritz and the other is KitchenAid and both are about the same price.
Any comments and ideas appreciated. Thank you.

Stainless Steel Cookware with a white film?

I’ve been using this Cookware Set (made of stainless steel) for over a year now and after cooking food in it, there’s a white film on the bottom of the pots. No matter how hard I scrub, the film is still there. It makes the pots look dirty. Brillo/S.O.S Pad doesn’t seem to work either.

I will try the Bar Keeper’s Friend product. I hope it works! I know my cookware is no comparison to All-Clad but its the best I can afford for now and would like to keep it looking new.

Is Teflon used on stainless steel cookware with non-stick surfaces?

I am looking to replace my current cookware with something that is much safer. I have read many articles where Teflon/non-stick surfaces are dangerous to our health. If I get a stainless steel cookware set with non-stick surfaces, will I encounter the same health risk?

I am looking at getting a new set of pans and want to know your opinion of what is better. I always have had nonstick but am thinking of getting stainless steel. Wich one is better and is stainless steel easy to keep clean? I just worry about stainless steel going rusty.

Are there dishes that should NOT be cooked in stainless steel cookware?

I just got a new set of stainless steel pots and pans. Are there certain dishes that should NOT be cooked in them? Any secrets that anyone wants to share about using this new cookware? I’ve always had non stick pans. I already learned that you need to cook at a lower cooking temperature than nonstick or cast iron. Those pans get REALLY HOT!! Thanks in advance for anyone’s help!!

Still aluminum in stainless steel cookware?

Filed under: Steel Cookware Set — Tags: , , — SCS Blogger @ 12:46 pm
nmommy07 asked:

I’m trying to use as little aluminum as possible as it can be related to health problems, and I’m just trying to be a little more careful. I just bought the Emerilware pro-clad pot and pan set, and it’s stainless steel but says “Emerilware Pro-Clad is constructed with an aluminum core bonded between two layers of stainless steel ideal for…”

Therefore, I’m still cooking with aluminum. Is it safer since it’s between 2 pieces of stainless steel? Does any stainless steel cookware not use aluminum? Thanks.
